    Hello everyone,

On this long and winding road to AV heaven my next step is hopefully a new TV in about 18 months!! What I am interested in is the flexibility of a 100hz set so as to be able to play games via Xbox, etc in NTSC or PAL at 50hz or 60hz (depending on source of game obviously) and the TV viewing picture of a 50hz set (I am lucky enough not to see the flickering before anyone gets started) Are there any manufacturers who allow you to switch between both modes with no problems? Progressive scan is also a must!!

    Thanks in anticipation

I have a Panasonic 100hz set, the TX28PL10 and I didnt realise I will look at my manual again will the picture lose the "100hz look" simply by switching the these things off?

Sorry to disagree but the majority of 100Hz sets cannot switch to 50Hz.

My Tosh RP 40WH08B cannot switch from 100Hz either.
The same that goes for other Tosh models (inc CRTs) made at the time. They (and mine) have 'natural scan' as an alternative which is still 100Hz.
Don't know about more recent Tosh models though.

    Hello,

Generally the sets that can change from 100hz to 50hz, seem to be the higher end specifications.

The Sony FQ80 and the DRC models can be reduced to 50hz and my previous set, the pixel plus 9527 had this faciltiy as well.

I currently have a FQ70 100hz and this cannot be reduced to 50hz.

    Not sure about other models.

Hope this may be of assistance.

    Regards

    Paul :smashin:
