Setanta in Ireland without SKY subscription.

Hi everyone.

I've had a look here at this thread, but unfortunately it doesn't help me. I'm hoping someone smart here can help!

My grandfather has a SKY setup in Ireland. He doesn't have a SKY subscripion any more, and just receives the free to air channels. However, with the rugby world cup coming up he wants to get Setanta sports.

He has his old viewing card from when he was a SKY subscriber, but SKY say that it doesn't come up as valid on their system any more. His SKY account number also brings up nothing.

Can he give setanta this viewing card number to activate setanta sports? Will it work? Or, does he have to get a new card from either setanta or sky? He doesn't want a SKY subscription though.

I'd really appreciate any help you can give!

if your grandfather has the sky box he should be able to get UTV/ITV and ITV 4. for free. ITV have the uk right and are showing every game live on itv 1 or 4.

thay will need added via the add channals opichion. thay are showing all the games exsept one witch is one itv 3 witch can also be tuned in.

but if you still wont setanta...here are your opichions.

I got Setanta Ireland a few weeks ago. i did not have a card but didi have the equitment. rang them and thay sent me a card with in a week.

ring setanta and ask them about the exsisting card thay will know.

He doesn't like ITV/UTV coverage of rugby! Setanta Ireland are also showing the lot, and he prefers their coverage!

I've no idea how to add channels, but I guess it can't be that hard to work out ... I'm sure I'll find a guide by searching Google.
