If you want the best quality recordings you'll need to use RGB, so it might be best to connect:

Sky Box TV Scart to RGB input on DVD Recorder, then RGB output on DVD recorder to Scart 1 (RGB) on TV.

Problem is that it'll mean you'll have to have the DVD recorder on to watch Sky in the best quality through your TV, unless it passes through the RGB signal when it's in standby. Give it a go and see.

tobyjuggler is totally correct. The RGB input on your recorder is marked as Line3 on the back. You do not have to keep the player on - it passes RGB through as long as it is plugged in. I have the same model and Sky+ it it all works very well.
