    Hi all,
This might be a bit beneath you guys, but I am looking at getting a new Freeview Set Top Box. My original Pace is on the blink (technical term) but is intermittent (don't know if it's the PSU or the unit)
Has anyone any comments on the best of the cheaper sets please ? I was considering the Grundig 1500 as it had a good 'write-up' in HCC some time ago.
Thinkgs might have moved on from then !
    Any comments appreciated

The Packard Bell is a good STB but no digital out.
The Philips 1500 is better as it has the above and assignable scarts for most video formats but not as cheap.
I had the more expensive Nokia but it kept freezing, requiring a reset.

Netgem iPlayer would be a good choice.

2x scarts, SPDIF Optical and stereo outputs, RF loop-through, as well as a built in modem for internet/email access (IR keyboard included).

A world apart from the old Pace DVB box!

Nokia's non-bog standard boxes are v. good, with excellent connectivity and software is very good. I have an old on-digital Nokia box, and it is still going strong.
