This post is aimed at the many people on here that use duel servo15's.
Do you use the X30 unit with them.....????
If you do, do you leave the PSU switched on constantly....???
Because of where mine is plugged in, it is a pain to keep switching it on and off.
Just wondered what the lifespan of the PSU would be if left on constantly and is it easy to find a replacement for it once it goes.

Are there any other alternatives than the X30, that have a better PSU setup.

At the moment, when i want to watch a film i have to struggle to turn the X30 on, then turn the subs on ( cannot seem to get the auto on to work at the moment ) and then when it's finished i have to do it all again in reverse.

    Cheers....chris.

Mine has been left switched on for nearly three years.
I think it will be OK like this - the risk it will fail if I switch it back on after turning it off whilst on holiday or whatever is more of concern to me.
Everything I have left switched on - in one or two cases - more than 16 years - has been fine. The odd power supply failure suffered has happened to things I have switched off for a while - then switched back on - I was told that capacitors dry out and become brittle - causing them to fail when disconnected/reconnected.
Whether power supplies would last longer if turned on and off every night - I have no idea. Like many - I leave things connected as they seem to work better whilst warmed up - Naim amps - and stuff.

    Chris

Did you get that second sevo 15 yet,1 was sold to a chris on ebay a few days ago was it you? it was from Brum, I could have brought it down for you when I picked my SVS up from you.

By the way I am so pleased with the SVS its awsome man, nearly shat myself with Flight of the Phoenix I thought the walls were going to come down, and the pressure in the room!!!!!!!!

Anyway if it was you with the second servo, whats it like, have the people next door complained yet?or have they put their house up for sale.

Yes that was my second one.....
they are sounding and looking good, but need a bit more setting up.

When i get the chance i have got to wire up my BFD and i've also just got 2 auralex gramma platforms to put them on.

The nighbours have not complained yet, but then i have not had anything on nice and loud yet.

just fancied a change.....got board looking at the dustbin in the corner.
Could not afford a DD or the 850 and thought i would give a duel sub setup a try, so the servo's are the next best thing IMO.
Would like to know what the price is of the new servo15, but i bet it's out of my price range.
Was looking on an Ozzy web site the other day and they are still selling the original Servo at the equivelant of £1500.
Always was and always will be a good buy in the UK.
