Service menu and changing the budget black remote to the Silver premium remote

I have replaced my smart remote that came with the QE55Q70 tv this was a black plastic smart remote, and I replaced with the premium silver smart remote.

however this didn’t work on my tv, looking at the service menu there is an option to change the smart remote type from black budget to silver premium. But the setting for this doesn’t get saved.

is there a way to get the service menu to keep the selection at the silver premium?

I have done this on a 2017 Model Samsung, have you paired the remote?
When I go pair the remote, the tv said after a while that it wasn’t able to connect.
I went into the service menu and noticed it was set to black economy smart remote so changed it to premium silver and then restarted the tv. I checked the change in the service menu I did and it showed black economic remote again so I’m presuming it’s not pairing due to this not setting in the service menu.

the black remote pairs fine, but is physically broken on the volume buttons etc…
