My brother has an LG PX5D out of warranty. Yesterday it developed a fault, I went to look at it, but didn't take a camera. I have managed to find a picture of a Dell monitor on Google images that looks exactly the same though and have attached it.

Any opinions on whether it is even worth trying to get it repaired?

    Many thanks Abs

That picture is to dark, i had to use Paintshop pro to lighten it.

You have a vertical rainbow pattern on the left side, that to me means the screen is busted, no use getting it repaired as it will probably cost almost as much as new tv.

Best thing cut your loses and buy a new tv.

Thanks Jetinder, thought it might be busted!

The picture is still fine in the background and the rainbowing is less noticable on dark scenes. May just put it on the wall in the spare room. Looks impressive until you switch it on!!!
