    Unbreakable

I know Shyamalan always planned 2 sequels but because of poor box office sales there were none.
Now that the last couple of movies didn't rake it in, I doubt he'll have the chance to go back to it either.

Hmmm.. they should have made a sequel.. the remake is a third version of the first. A bit pointless.

I think you're on about How To Steal a Million, which I also caught some of at the weekend (mainly because I love Audrey Hepburn in that era). Interesting that both films were made around the same time, 1966.

For me I'd love to have seen a sequel to The Long Good Friday with Bob Hoskins. The best British gangster movie of all time, despite the numerous attempts in recent years to oust it.

I'd settle for a sequel to Serenity though.

    Airplane 3,

At the end of 2, they said 3 would be 'coming soon'. I'm still waiting:D

I've been hoping for a sequel to Grosse Pointe Blank (one of my favourite films of the 90's) for ages. Closest thing we're going to get looks like the upcoming "War, Inc.", another dark comedy in which Cusack plays a hitman again, albeit a different character. It even includes Dan Akroyd, so definitely a nod to GPB I reckon :smashin:.

A part 2 for the movie Deep Rising has always been on my want list. I love that film and reckon a sequel would have been great:smashin:

    :smashin:Liked that what I would class as a modern day B movie:smashin:

Think ther could have been a sequil to the original Get Carter as there were a series of books with Jack Carter in and Get Carter was not the last as far as I know.

Zathura was 'sort of' a sequel. It was written by the same author, it features a game which comes 'alive' and releases 'real' people/monsters/etc. that destroy the house with the only way of returning to normal is to finish the game. The only difference is Jumanji is 'set' in the jungle and Zathura, in space.

I think we can all agree Luc Besson should do a 'follow-up' to Leon with Portman, she is totally the right age to make the movie and I think she has said in interviews she would be willing to make it.

2061: odyssey three. Would be perfect. Roy Scheider who played Dr Heywood Floyd would be the right age for this so it'd all fit and lets be honest, what a film it could be with a smart director driving it. There were rumours a few years back of Tom Hanks taking on 3001, but nothing came of it:thumbsdow . In saying that, they would of missed out 2061 doing that. Either way, lets have the next one in the series, it's well overdue!!

    :lease:

Back in the late 70's they were planned but the idea was shelved before ROTJ and ROTJ was re-written to provide a proper ending to the series:

I heard ages ago that that there was a script going about, where the goonies (now old), have heard news that something was happening to the town they grew up in and they all get back together to sort it out.
Or something about the old goonies having children and the children becoming the new goonies.
Either way i hate both ideas

Ghostbusters 3 - This needs to be made now (and has to have the original cast or it should never be made)
Pirates Of The Carribbean 4 - After that so called 3rd one :thumbsdow
Alien 5 - Not to sure about these, where else could you take the story without being the same as the others.
Predator 3 - Would like to see this again but i have reservations about where can they go with the story without it being the same as 1 & 2.
Nightmare on elm street 8(?) - While i love the Freddy series i think that freddy vs jason was a great way to end both franchises.
Die Hard 5 - after that shambles that 4.0.................... if your not going to make it an 18's dont bother with watering down john mclane.
Mission: Impossible 4 - as long as JJ is directing again.

I am desperate for a sequel to Master and Commander.

Am a huge fan of the books, read the lot 3 times each so far. There is so much scope for another film, and I thought Russell Crowe was outstanding as Jack Aubrey.

Problem is, the first film was very expensive to make - though I believe it did make money....

Looking at some of the suggestions should we not change the title of this post to..
Sequels that were never made...and in most cases we're thankful they weren't:rotfl:
