I read an article a while back about building a computer for home cinema...
Now I dont need DD/DTS decoders etc, I'm getting an amp seperately, but the review said that performance was comparable to a £1000 DVD player
It did use v high quality components, hardware DVD decoder, M-Audio Audiophile card etc.
I was just wandering, since I have a computer in my Home Cinema room, which is fast, fairly quiet etc. do I need to bother upgrading my Sony S-715, or could I just get a hardware DVD decoder for the computer, an M-Audio card (Which i was looking at getting anyway) and go with that?
I am getting frustrated looking at DVD players, I dont need one that decodes DD, DTS etc, I just want one that will give a good picture, DTS/DD stream out, and good CD playback! I could keep my s715 for CD playback If I used the computer though...
