It would be nice if these people discussed the first problem that needs to be overcome, rather than all the pie in the sky nonsense like blocking out the sun with balloons, which seemed to be the gist of the 'Overture' speech.
Why don't they try and get their heads around the problem of solving peoples deep seated cynicism about the potential threat?
Why don't they try and come up with a strategy that will get the majority of people 'on-board' so that when there is a plan in place, people will accept it.
Why have another conference supposedly based around MMGW and CC, but which kicks off with one mans nutty dream, which will only have the effect of driving more and more people into the camp of incredulous by-standers?
The real goal at this stage, needs to be getting people....
to believe that acting sooner, rather than later,
on a problem that may possibly not be a problem,
and won't affect this generation to any great extent,
and hopefully won't affect the next generation too much,
and won't provide a cure, but only extra time,....
is actually a 'good thing'.

If 'they' can achieve that, then the actual action part of the plan will be relatively easy!
