Selling my SVS for.... (drum role please) ... another SVS :D

Yep, getting rid of my month old CS-Ultra and am upgrading to the PB2 Ultra in the near future :)

If there's any bass heads around looking for some action checkout ebay - I've just put it up, might interest you, might not.

Eitherway I'm getting that PB2 Ultra sooner or later even if it means I have to work extra shifts at work

    I know :rotfl:

I might just scrape up a little more and go for the B4, that way I'll know I have the best SVS has to offer. Maybe then I can stop this eternal sub swapping but I just love experiences new heights of bass, I suppose if I was honest the CS-Ultra is a beauty and fits most peoples definition of 'reference' but I just can't help feeling that the PB2 Ultra or the B4 would be so much better.

    Help, I need help.

Any reason for puting it on ebay rather than in our classifieds where this knowledgable lot would have given you a good deal?

I recieved a ban from the classified section of the forum for not following rules which then lead to me arguing with Urban T, not the best idea I've ever had, and consequently the ban

So as much as I'd like to put things AV related on here for sale, I can't.

Dissappointed in you guys, the sub didn't sell :D

I'm think I'm right in saying that their is far less demand for a passive Ultra rather than the powered version, so I guess that's the reason it didn't sell. Or maybe people are just put off by the ugly looks and naff performance

Well anyway, I've really been giving it some stick today now its well worn in and this thing is just so so clean at high levels. I'd say it has less distortion than my old servo 15 because it certainly seems to be even cleaner in output when really pushed and its far louder too. For the first time since I bought the sub I've had it to what I'd call its limit.
This was during SW:AOTC at +6dB on the amp and during the ship explosion :) It was absolutely stupid in level but not distorting or bottoming out - that happened at +8dB. I can't ever imagine anyone listening at that sort of level.
I can't really describe it but I was terrified afterwards, I call feel my heart beating and I had that tingling the creeps up the back of your neck and across your scalp.

Which brings me to question my wanting a PB2 Ultra or maybe the B4+. I keep trying to rationalise it as 'I don't like the look of the whole cylinder thing at all' which is true and I'd much prefer a box, or more specifically a wood veneered box :)
But I couldn't be happier with the sound of the Ultra, I don't need anymore headroom thanks to the gain and easy pressurising of my smallish listening room so is it really worth spending around £2000 on an PB2-Ultra?

I'm beginning to think it would be a stupid move and a waste of money.

I have to say I was very suprised to hear you were thinking of selling it so soon.

My HC is in a large attic bedroom, and the PC Ultra fills it very comfortably indeed without breaking a sweat.
My brother came round the other day for a listen, and his words to describe the experience were simply.. "Bloody Hell !..Where can I get one".

So, I think you're being a bit of a silly billy!

ah but surely the bragging rights alone for having a pb2 ultra would be worth it?

im the same though - ive briefly thought about getting a pb2 plus (or perhaps even ultra in the relative near future) and then realised that i have no need to have either... aside from the aesthetic changes of a moderately sized bin to a larger box :/

for some reason tho its still very tempting...

Jules, Roadeh, your words echo my own conscience.

I think I'll put the whole thing on hold for now and just enjoy what I've got. I seem to be forever swapping and changing these days and because of this my system was in a constant state of flux and I could never fully enjoy it.

I'm slowly thinking of going all out and going for the B4. The exchange rate is just toooooooo tempting right now.

If you can afford it Kazman - then go for it - my friend has one and it blows everything out of the water - just stunning in all respects - just remember to pair it with at least a Crown k1 amp to achieve  heights of low end nirvana.

Just worked out that it would cost just under 3,000 all inclusive, it is a heavy beast!!

It is also using Plus drivers instead of Ultra, so I might just go for two PC Ultras instead now.

Bonedaddy, what kind of extension can you get from the B4? It's actually in the same price range of the Velodyne DD-18...I wonder how it compares...

SVS think it matches $25,000 subs, according to the blurb on the B4 page.

Damn, I'm actually trying to justify the B4 to myself now, damn this upgraditis!!!!

$25,000 subs? That sounds like hype more than anything else (imho).

Edit: Just to add to that, I mean just HOW good can a sub get? When the extension is extremely low with little distortion and good headroom (like the lesser SVS subs are), just how much better can it get?

All of the above and more Nimby,I`ve heard pretty much all subs up to now and they aren`t a patch on the SVS B4 - my friend has it running through a Soundweb processor and the thing is now tuned to unbeliavable heights, even normal programming on sky have so much depth and detail hidden in them - you are blown away at the quality of the sub,and the way it handles everything with such ease.

Its not such a big dream, just pick up a pen and a ticket, fill it in........easy. God, wish I had such simple dreams to fulfill. Mind you , even a simple lottery ticket can be difficult for the uninitiated. :D

I suppose I could fit an outrigger on my 16-46 and become the scourge of the North Sea.

Hope you get more luck this time.If i was you i would put it on for longer ,go for a least 7 days with large value items like that. Not many people will see that with a 3 day listing,or are you hoping that someone on here will buy it.
