How do you tell your Onkyo to use the ARC input?

Been working fine for months and has suddenly stopped. Now can’t seem to get it receive sound via ARC.

Any helped much appreciated.

You'd go into the AV receiver's HDMI configurations and turn both HDMI ARC and HDMI Control on. You'd also need to ensure that ARC and the TV's implementation of HDMI CEC are also engaged.

All of those are on, nothing has changed but not working. Guessing it could be the TV that has an issue.

Try a different HDMI cable, preferably one that is rated HIGH SPEED and ethernet channel compliant. Shorter lengths are better and try avoid anything longer than 5m.

Turn off Onkyo’s Hdmi control (RIHD) and unplug both from the mains for like a minute. Power tv and amp on, and turn RIHD back on. This works everytime for me.
