HI i would like to know if a Seleco SVP 350 would be better than my panasonic AE500 lcd pj thanks
someone must know help?
Your 500 will look sharper because it is LCD and higher resolution. The 350 will look more 'film like' because it is CRT. For image brightness the 350 might have the advantage depending on its age and tube wear.
What are you looking to improve over the AE500 image?
I'm not too sure if the 500 can produce good blacks (most LCDs can't) but the Seleco most certainly can.
HI thanks for that chris + benc, it is the blacks and depth of the picture on the ae500 that i do not like so if i get a good 350 seleco and use my denon 1910 i should get a better picture
ps do you know were i can get a good seleco 350 from chris
Is 06560 hours a lot for a seleco 350 PJ
The tubes are rated good for 10,000hrs average. There are plenty of old Selecos out there with well over 10K hrs on the clock, so 6560 hrs isn't excessive, but the machine is certainly well used. Is it an ex-pub projector?
Try Loot, possibly ebay though I'd recommend a viewing before you part with cash, or keep your eye on the classifieds here. The best buy will be a one-owner 350 that's been professionally installed and used for home cinema. They'll be a bit pricier than an ex-pub machine but you'll get something with lower hours and in cleaner condition usually. BTW. I'm prep'ing an ex-pub 350plus over the Christmas break. Should come up for sale in the New Year if all goes well.
Why not take a look at my SVP 400 HT it only has 520 hrs and I have owned it from new.
It is posted in the classifieds.
HI andreas can you give me a link thanks
I'm not sure how to do that. However if you look in the classifieds it should be there
