I'm looking to buy the seinfeld box sets when they're released in Nov, just can't make up my mind which to go for. Does anyone know what the differences are between the USA and UK releases. Also, it seems as if the pilot episode is missing from the season 1 set. There's just the 4 episodes in season 1.

The region 1 box set comes with playing cards and salt and pepper shakers. The Australian box set comes with a t-shirt, but am unsure if anything extra will be included in the region 2 release.
Its actually released in the uk before the states!
And the pilot episode is included - you get two versions of it!
Can't wait to get my hands on the set, whats the best price you've seen for the set?

For all 3 seasons in the uk it's £48 from Play.com. £28 seperately. I think Dvdsoon, (Canada), are selling them for £23 per box, (seasons 1+2 are one box). Not sure how much for the 3 season gift set.

I'm after the gift set as well. I have a 10% voucher for play.com, but get 20% rebate from cdwow. Cdwow do not seem to be selling the box set though

R2 is cheapest if you buy the 1-3 Boxset. I think the disks are the same as R1 (pilots are mentioned in the extras for R2). The only difference I can see is that you don't get the Seinfeld free gifts with the R2 boxset.

I've pre-ordered through play.com using a 10% voucher, although I think amazon uk is selling it a bit cheaper (£45).

I thought about ordering the USA version from dvdsoon who have the set for £46. However, I was worried that due to the size of the package customs may take an interest and whack on an import tax plus handling charge etc....

I've only watch season 1, but the picture is good and the extras are great for Seinfeld buffs. The menus are really well designed. You can get to any menu from any other menu, which sounds simple, but I've not seen before and is really effective.

Each episode has its own 5 minutes or so Inside Look with the thoughts from the cast and Larry David. The episodes are also 1-2 minutes longer than normally shown and if, like me, you're used to paramounts re-runs, you do spot scenes you don't recognise.

Theres also an hour documentary on how the show began, bloopers, commentaries, notes about nothing, etc which I've not watched yet. So far, impressed.

I have to give another thumbs up for the layout of the menus as they are the best layed out menus i`ve come across on dvd. Select the episode you want to watch and you will have all the extra features relating to that episode right there like inside look, deleted scenes, commentary. It also gives you more insentive to watch the extras as the relating features to the episode you just watched are right there for you.

Also none related episode features are under the extras section along with all the stuff i mentioned above. Even though i`m on disc 3 (season2 disc 2) the extras have been excellent upto yet with good insights into individual eps, some ok extended scenes, blooper reels, haven`t come across the documentary yet thought. Theres also a kramer vs the real kramer on there some where which i`m looking forward to seeing.

They`ve also done an excellent job with the picture and have put alot of effort into doing a remastered high definition transfer and really looks fantastic compared to what your used to on paramount. Any remote fan of seinfeld will be over the moon with this boxset and sets the bar for other TV boxsets to match.
