    Hi People!

I am in the market for a portable MP3 player, preferably around 20gb.

    What I would prefer is:
    - The ability to drag and drop MP3/data files directly from Windows.
    - Auto detection under Windows (no drivers required).
    - Good sound
    - Option to buy a car-cigarette-lighter adaptor for play when I'm
driving (amped through my car stereo).

Looks, weight, size and earphones are not particularly an issue (all
    within reason).

I have read most of the www.ebuyer.com customer comments and
www.tomshardware.com reviews, but nothing seems to meet my needs.

If one has good sound, it has no universal auto-Windows-detection, or it
has special third-party MP3 formats... etc etc.

I looked at the Creative site and couldn't see a car-cigarette-lighter
adaptor for their units, but I did for the I-Pods... but they seem unreasonably more expensive.

I suppose I just want a no-BS player, which will play standard MP3s without fuss or crappy third-party software.

Zens, Ipods, Rios, Sony's.... none seem to just do this. Or have I misinterpreted the reviews?

Any recommendations, comments or advice please?

    Thank you very much

iAudio (Cowon) do some good, no BS players with exceptionally long battery life and 20GD/40GB HDD. Google them. Not sure about the ciggie lighter compatibility, though ...

Or what about Archos Gmini XS200 / 202? Both drag 'n' drop, but much shorter batteries ...

If you search on ebay for the model number of the mp3 player, then sort by accesseries, you can usually find some third party accesseries, as usually with most hardware its just a matter of having the corret wiring, and power connecters, so yea I'd try that if you find one you want one but cant seem to find a car adapter.
