Security Camera Wifi

I want to buy a security camera. An outdoor one. In the past, the one I had whenever we experience a power outage or the wire disconnects or the wifi loses connection I have to grab a ladder and unscrew my camera and bring it into my home to reconnect via ethernet to reset. How do I know if a new camera I buy requires me to do that. I would assume most cameras would not need that. What specifications should I look for?
