On some games, if you have an old GBA game inserted while playing (usually a prequel) youll get extra stuff in game ! I certainly never knew this
One example is Advance wars Dual Strike. If you have either of the GBA advance wars in your GBA slot while playing new maps are available within the DS game !
on Castlevania Dawn Of Sorrow, if you have aria of sorrow in the GBA slot A Mina Doll appears in the background of Yoko's shop and You will receive the Rare Ring upon starting a new game.
It works with the pokemons as well and is the only way to get two of the pokemon (Erekiburu and Buuburn) and you can take your trained pokemons from you GBA game and move them to your DS game
