Second IR emitter for USB-UIRT???

Hi guys,
I'm using an USB-UIRT to control my futronix lighting controller very nicely.

I'd like it to also control my processor and power-amp in my equipment rack, but there's no angle I can use where it's IR will hit both the wallswitch and rack.

There's a 3.5mm stereo jack on the back that jon says is compatible with driving a stereo or mono jacked emitter.

Where can I get one or two emitters in the UK to work with this?

I've found a QED SL-DE Double Infrared Emitter Pack QEDSLDE for £17.99 delivered at http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.asp?id=2486

Anyone know if this will work with the USBUIRT or know of a better/cheaper wide emitter that could hit the whole rack without sticking on the fronts?

thanks and regards,
Rob.

Rob,

The USBUIRT emitter is very strong have you tried it "bouncing off the oppsite wall/rack/anything?" I've got mine sat in a 19" rack and it fires away from the rack and is received by all the equipment in the same rack. It is sat quite far back so it's not hitting the other gear with a wide dispersion, more direct boicing IR over about 8'

Thanks Steve, to my surprise your idea of sitting it in the rack on top of the AV32R worked, but didn't hit the lighting controller. I think the IR bounces off the back of my ikea chairs, everything else in the room is pretty dark so as not to reflect light. I then managed to find one position where it controls both, but it's not ideal as it's sellotaped in-place!

Know of any good emitters?

Thanks.
Rob.

I use a pyramid ir receiver/emiter to extend the range of my dinkylink IR controller, I can use my Tivo remote in different rooms now it works quite well by placing the receiver in one location and the emitter near another IR receiver. It's a bit bulky tho'.

Check out Lets Automate here they have a host of IR options.
