Second hand projector

Looking for a 2nd hand projector, including a 6-7' screen, for around a grand.

What could I get for this price? And how would it compare to say the panny? Any ideas people?

[was tempted by the Panny but I'm put off by it's reliability record]

Cheers

Check ouy E-Bay. An example is an NEC LT-156 that went for a £1000. This is a very high quality data projector with 1200 lumens, xga resolution, tiny size and good contrast. These run really well through pc's but less well through dvd players. Good data projectors are very similar to home theatre projectors except slightly noisier, 4:3 ratio, less lamp life and much cheaper (excepting the panasonic).
If you can live with black borders look for an XGA, 1000 lumen + data projector with a reasonable contrast ratio for £700-900.
Buying off ebay means you have to thoroughly investigate feedback, lamp life and dead pixels. Best is to pick the projector up in person.
This has allowed me as a poor student to enjoy big screen action :)
