Second Feed From Portable Dish?

I have a Sky+ HD box, but thanks to the short-sightedness of the builders of my apartment building (only 8 years old), each apartment gets only one feed from the communal satellite (which, thankfully, provides a perfect service. And yes, I've checked behind the face plate, but I wasn't lucky enough to find a magical extra cable).

Obviously, I would like to be able to record one programme, and watch another, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a work around?

One thing I have considered is having a portable satellite dish in the window (95% it would have line of sight) to provide the second feed. Would this work? Would being behind glass affect the signal?

It would be hit and miss, normally double glazing won't work in my experience.

Hmm.

I suppose the type of glass may have a bearing on signal strength, depending on any type of covering (like anti-glare) or metallic content. I also assume dirty glass or rain on the glass will affect the signal to a high degree.

I might have to try it out anyway, considering I don't see any other way.
