I've had it a few times, it doesn't seem to have been so bad lately though.

Not had a series link failure for well over a year, probably longer as I can't remember exactly when I last had a failure since the first month after launch.
An update or two back brought us the "searching for..." banner and whenever I've seen that it's found the link within a few seconds.

Sky+ has lost my series link for The Premiership twice now - any reason why - is it because it only ever searches a week ahead so if it is not on for a week then it gets dumped?

I do not know the exact specs in which the series links work but they can activate a entry more than 7 days ahead, maybe they have to be setup by the broadcaster with a specific date and time if the gap is longer than 7 days.

Not sure either - sometimes these little niggles are difficult to accept when you have moved from TiVo - if only they could co-operate they could develop one hell of a product.

Well TIVO want money from SKY to allow their patented software and intellectual property to be used so that's a non-starter:)

DirecTV's TIVO equipped dual tuner Dsat HD recorder is probably the most impressive PVR I've read about but all the US cable and sat providors are offering their own PVR's now as they want to keep any extra revenue and not pay it to TIVO.
