oh good how good does this look lmao

Billy-Ray Lancing (Seagal), a government agent-turned-survivalist from Northern Alaska who works on a wildlife refuge and sponsors a young girl named Irina in the international
foster program run by Faisal (Schulze). Lancing uncovers that the foster program is really a human trafficking operation, disguised as Irina's orphanage, financed by honest and good-intentioned Samaritans.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: wave :hiya: :hiya: to that career steven.

Mr Seagal was never a good actor, or even personable. But his early movies when he had a contract with Warner were different. His fight technique was very credible. No multiple spinning back kicks to the head nonsense. Blows to joints, arm and wrist locks, even jabs to eyes. Marked for death (uncut version) had some of his best violence. But he shot his gob off and allowed his ego to inflate to titanic proportions and so got drop by the studio. Now he's just a fifth rate over weight hack. Shame

Belly of the beast and exit wounds were both great movies and they were quite recent.

Half past dead was also half decent as well.

I have all his movies on dvd. Must say that some of them are not up to big budget movie status but all have some thing for the seagal fan which are many.

He is an aquired taste after all!!

Yep happens to be my fav action film.Region 2 cut to pieces buy the BBFC by about 2 mins!!

It all dependes on what you want from a film. I happen to like seagals type of martial art (akido). He may be geting on a bit now and a bit out of shape but can still put in an impresive performance as a martial artist.

Every movie star or action star is going to have his or her fans and neighsayers .It is all down to personal choice.

"oh mate you must be joking"
A great way to put your point across ;)

No , not of all time just his movies.

Like I said I happen to like the mans movies. Some people like van dame, some like stallone ,alot like arnie. I would not say they are wrong to do so its just their taste in movies.

Please explain to me why I am wrong just because my taste in movies is diffrent to yours? :D

I agree that he's not the best actor in the world but what I do admire about him is his ability. As someone who's done a fair bit of martial arts over the years and also just started doing aikido, I know what it takes to achieve any semblance of achievment within the arts. The last I heard was that he had achieved the rank of 7th dan. This takes at least 30 years of dedication to the art and he still takes seminars teaching other high ranking blackbelts of which my sensei(teacher) has had the pleasure of attending and he's a sixth dan. You've got to admire his dedication if nothing else.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Whether he's a talented martial artist or not is irrelevant. He's a big-headed ponce.

Sorry, didnt mean to sound like a pompuse idiot, but I dont think he is particularly good, he'd of been better off being a character actor instead of "starring" in films

back in the old days he came across as a bit on the arrogant side in interviews, then when he started throwing his (not inconsiderable) weight around with the studio (Warners) he kind of lost the chance to become the new heavyweight action star... and just became a heavyweight instead.
His earlier movies were quite entertaining, he offered a more brutal "ying" to Van Damme's flambouyant "yang", but he squirted it into the wind by never really knowing when to shut his mouth, he considered himself to be up there with Arnie when he was in fact still finding his fanbase. Shame really, he was a proper scrapper as opposed to using more "showy" styles of martial arts.

    he's only himself to blame

I've got a similar thing with Van Damme. I love movies about twins. And fight tournaments.
He's another one that never quite got to live up to his potential.

    under seige 2
    the glimer man
    executive decision
    above the law (nico)
    out for justice
    marked for death
    on deadly ground.

Have all been cut by the f :censored: ers at the BBFC.

The region 1 usa laser discs and dvds have all got alot more bone crunching action and violence :smashin: :smashin:

Couple of van dame flicks have been cut too!
    Maximum risk
the quest(not sure about this one)

It's just that over the years I have seen him interviewed on several occasions and he makes David Hasselhoff look humble. He just comes across as a right pr*ck. Now I appreciate that doesn't necessarily make your films bad but in his case, I just fail to find many of the films I have seen "starring" Mr Seagal even slightly enjoyable. He just lacks charisma and takes himself a bit too seriously. Just my opinion. I must confess to quite enjoying "Under Siege" as it was good fun but I would rather have someone else in the lead role. Doesn't matter who....just someone else.

Silverback's posting of the description of the new Seagal film is hilarious though. I thought it was a joke........It will probably be worth watching for comedy value. It has all the cliches to make him look great

    1) disillusioned cop/agent who now works for no money and is at one with nature.
    2) fluffy animals that he looks after
    3) A young orphan girl he can protect
    4) A Human crisis of catastrophic proportions that only he can solve.
    5) An unlikely name (a la John Matrix from "Commando")

I would imagine that somewhere during the film his old commander turns up and asks him back for one more job because he's "the best". However he refuses as he has to protect some monkeys at his sanctuary.

<"Billy-Ray Lancing (Seagal), a government agent-turned-survivalist from Northern Alaska who works on a wildlife refuge and sponsors a young girl named Irina in the international foster program run by Faisal (Schulze). did someone say belly of the beast was one of his finest work.......PPLLEEAASEE do be serious - it was his worst. Surely after seeing him in that film it must be downhill from there ?

And I'm a great seagal fan !! believe it or not.
