Sdi

Cheapest I've seen is an SDI-ed 1910 for all but £400, a PC solution would be about £220. I'm contemplating this route, not sure yet nor whether the player or PC option is more likely.

Good link :smashin: .. their 1910's cheaper than I've seen and MR-ed, the one I saw wasn't, that Philips looks tasty at that price too, shame the Sony is R1 only.

And from what I've read/heard CRT seem really know their stuff regarding Sdi.

Yup, their reputation seems very good .. and since SDI is of most interest to CRT owners in these days of HDCP-crippled DVI sources then a specialist in CRT HC equipment would be an ideal place to go to, and they're price competitive too. :)

Got my SDI player from them - would recommend them without hesitation.

Subjectively, about 15% sharper than a DV88+ via component, with very stable colours, and no noise. Best I've ever seen, that's for sure. Pixar stuff looks HD, crap films look crap, great films look amazing.
