    Hi,

Has anyone upgraded their Denon DVD player to an SDI output? (Ideally a Denon 3800 or similar)

If so, what is the difference in quality?

I am interested in getting this done, but not sure on the level of differnce in quality for the dosh...

    Cheers

    JJ

My dad has a Denon 3910 with SDI.

The picture improved significantly from the component output. He runs it into a Crystalio.

The Swiss guys are offering a DIY sdi kit for the 3910 in this month.
In the USA you can still get one for a scaler FOC if you buy an Iscan scaler.
Don't homebrew if uncomfortable, it's an involved undertaking.
I don't think the pic quality will be any better than dvi/hdmi, except you don't have to worry abt the protection.

    Cheers...

DIY - no chance!!! Looking to Elliot @ PJ for this...

My 3800 doesn't have DVI out, hence the reasons for looking to SDI to get dig out.
