Has anyone heard any more news on whether it's possible to do an SDI output mod to a Sky+ V2 box?

Reading through the froums it seems the inclusion of an additional IC on the V2 boxfrom the V1 box has meant it's not SDI'able.

C'mon you clever guys surely someone has sussed how to do this?

Alternatively has anyone heard of an official Digital i/f coming from Sky?

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I too would be interested to see an SDI output for the Sky+ V2 box. Surely this must be possible for someone with the right tools ...

Are you absolutely certain? Surely, one must be able to have a closer look at the chip and search for those tiny decrypted digital signals inside, we all know they are in there somewhere ...

Not physically possible, I'm afraid. To make an SDI output there has to be a physical place in the circuit where you can tap in to the video signal after it is decoded but before it has chroma upsampling performed on it. In the V2 box the decoding and chroma upsampling are both performed inside the same silicon chip. There's no point where you can insert a wire and extract the signal you'd need.

Hi Hitchcock, the guys are right.
The best bet is to sell your v2 box or use it as a second room, a V1 is the only way to get SDI from sky (apart from some old non Sky+ boxes that can be modified)

    cheers
