pop into the "Progressive scan an video processing" forum it might give you some answers.

it is a way of taking the signal out of the player in its digital form.
you do then need either a pc card that can accept it and then scale and deinterlace, or a decent scaler, i think the cheapest scaler is going to be the new centre stage 2 by focus.

or even better is a display device that can accept the input direct if your into plasmas or digital projectors.

i think the particular machine mentioned is one of the worse examples too!

Why is that machine a bad example?
I was thinking about this in plasma terms.. is this an output that is available on some DVD players and also on plasmas??

I would need someone to confirm this........but i think it is a player that we testing the H3D card had problems with due to its mpeg decoder. If you can hold of, there may well be the opportunity to get an rp82 (which has the newest and best mpeg decoder) at a very very nice price. Check out the last few posts on a thread titled 'sdi player for £370' in the progressive scan forum.
