SDI Mod for NTL Pace box ??

    Anybody know if is possible to modify or purchase a unit that will work with NTL but provide an SDI output ??? :lease:

    I cannot see any reason why it would not be possible to modify an NTL box - but remember the box remains the property of NTL and they will charge you for the 'damage' you have caused to it if you ever have to return the box to them.

    The original SKY+ can be modified only due to it's design which allows easy access to the required chips, later models are more integrated thus removing the option.
    Your best bet is to contact a company who do this sort of thing but as Astorath says the box is the property of NTL who will want it back when you cancel or upgrade to a HD service or DVR based STB.

    I've read that people have used a PC based digital cable card/cam and legit smartcard which might give you direct access to the digital video but considering the costs would it be worth it but then again a SDI mod isn't cheap either and who knows HD may turn up on a merged NTL/TW platform sooner rather than later.
