SD Quality with 37-LCXD1E

Im not happy, we have had a 32" Philips CRT TV for 4 years and we thought it was time to upgrade. We also have Sky as well. The sky picture on the Philips was quite clear. After finally convincing the misses to go for the Sharp because of better picture quality. I have to say now its all set up, the Picture Quality isnt as sharp as the Philips CRT screen.

Something is definetely wrong here. Am i missing settings on this TV to bring it to life or do i need a Gold Plated Scart lead to get a clearer pic. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

i dont have the same lcd but i do have the hanspree xv37 yt-08 lcd tv and the sd quality isnt great, still looking for a solution as to why my crt was better.

however someone did mention using a calibration disc on your lcd tv and also by using the s-video connection
