SD on a small HDTV?

Standard Member
I´m looking for a 19-23" Widescreen LCD for the bedroom. I don´t have a HD source, but would probably play a few DVDs on it as well as receiving a Sky tv signal via an AV sender.

Whilst ploughing through all the options, it would seem that at this sort of size, the price differential between HD and Standard Definition LCD TVs has narrowed. Also, I always understood that a SD source playing through a HD set looked even worse - is this still the case?

To get the best picture, should I be sticking to SD or HD TVs? Or doesn´t it really matter?
