sd card speed slowed by usb2?

    Are sd cards faster than usb2?

    Some are, some aren't. It depends on the individual card and how you're measuring the speed (writing data is often slower than reading it for example).

    Many internal SD card readers are also connected via USB, so if you're trying to get data on and off a computer faster than USB2 you may find that's still the bottleneck for the card reader.

    I should of included the card type but if there are cards able to read or write faster than usb2 I was going to get a usb3 reader. I'm using a 32g class 10 card

    Yes a good usb 3 reader is worth it - transfer speeds also depend on the computer though i.e. motherboard - disk speed etc.
