I stay in hotels all week and as such take my DVD player with me. I've found a lot of hotel TVs when connected to the DVD will only play back a scrolling picture with colour fading/shadows. These TVs have now way of re-tunning. Is there something obvious going on here?
I'm baffled - any pointers much appreciated. thanks

Yes, definately through the scart. TVs pick up the fact that there is a source there and show picture as described. Have noticed on some hotel tvs also that the DVD picture is then also displayed on ALL other tunned chanels (with the same problem) but the audio if from the tuned channel! Weird. Just don't get it!

Sounds like a PAL/NTSC 50/60 issue to me.
