    Hi guys,

My instruction booklet for my Hitachi wall mount just says to use suitable wall fixings. My wall is plasterboard stuck onto concrete blocks and I'm unsure what type of wall bolt I need to get, any suggestions ?

    Cheers
    Richard

Do some searches - there have been several detailed discussions on this topic.

Opinions vary, but one thing is certain: You need to get through the plasterboard and fix into the concrete.

I used 2.5" number 12 screws into the brown type rawlplugs (8 in total), but if you search around in here you will find all sorts up to and including 8" long expanding bolts!

You are definitely going to want to use expanding wall bolts which are long enough to go through the plasterboard and about halfway into the concrete blocks beneath…I would recommend using at least 4, one in each corner, or maybe 6…I would not even think about using standard screws and rawlplugs.

If in doubt get someone in to do it.

    Cheers, Lee

Are they definitely concrete blocks? I stuck a screwdriver into the wall, just to double-check that they were breeze-blocks, and it went straight in - they were thermalite blocks! Had to order special thermalite plugs (after talking to Rawlplug on phone) and used 8 of them to mount it (with 6mm bolts).
