I had a refurb from sevenoaks 7205, which is perfect with a 3 year Gold warranty, but obviously can't comment on ebay.

You're probably safe with this seller as they have over 9,500 ebay sales chalked up. You should check how many hours of bulb life have been used.

i too got the 7205 from sevenoaks with that delicious warranty...heh

next business day onsite replacement for 3 years? hell yeah....i think they got the 7210 for £3,300 refurb with the same warranty....

but if you want to save money go with luzerntech, i think a few people on these forums bought 4805 or 5700's from them, i think, they might just ahve talked about it tho, i cant remember now...lol

Been into Sevenoaks today - and had a demo on a 5700. Very nice! I think I'll go with one of those - I don't want to use the room for watching TV - so HD Sky is not really a high priority. DVDs and music will be order of the day.
They are going to see if they have any of the refurbs left @ £1500 with 3yr warranty - or could do me the same price on thier ex-demo - but with onyl 2 yrs RTB wty. They did however say that a new one at £2k would give them about £300 of discount - off a screen and mount - which seems ok.

    Si,

Noticing that you are in Staffs, as am I despite my postal address, thought I would check out your home cinema via your sig. Longing to see the more finished photos - only your first batch seem to be showing ; )

I don't think that is a good buy any more.

The prices of 720p projectors are tumbling.

    Hold on to your money.

    Hi Piers

Just checked the photos - they are right...! Room is currently waiting to be skimmed (next week) - then electrics and plumbing (week after) - then clever soldering man to solder on speaker plates onto speaker wires - then the bar goes in and paint/carpet. Should be finished by first week in December - time really seems to be dragging now!

i doubt the DLP's under £4,000 will tumble any more till the new year......most have already dropped a bundle, so i think the companies will make use of the Xmas shopping spree to flog a load, then in the new year drop them a bit to put them in line with the new stuff coming out....altho most shops will prolly knock off an extra hundred if you um and ah enough..lol

.....anyhow, the OP said he isnt too bothered by having HiDef, its only being used for DVDs....
