I am about to make the plunge into the world of pj,s i am almost 100% that i am going for the screenplay 4805 @£1300 inc free screen from creative audio.

I initially had my heart set on the screenplay 5700 @£2200 including ceiling bracket from creative audio.

My question is how much better than the 4800 is the 4805 and how far off the 5700 is the 4805.........ist it worth nearly twice the price or has the 4805 cuaght up.

I know that i should demo etc etc etc,............. but i really do not have time and am prepared to buy unseen.

    All comments very welcome

Accoriding to comparisons over on www.avsforum.com the 4805 leaves the current generation of LCD projectors (Sanyo Z2, Panasonig AE500, Hitachi TX100) standing when it comes to DVD playback - there's much more to projection than resolution alone - the 4805 produces a very cinematic image compared to the LCD models (contrast is much higher, so you get greater shadow detail). The only downside is the rainbow effect, which some people can see.

Take a look at a shootout of a Sanyo Z2 clone vs the 4805 here.

(scroll down a bit for the 4805)

Also search these forums, someone had a demo of the 4805 vs the AE500 - the 4805, in his opinion was the clear winner.

Best thing to do is to try and get a demo - and have a look at the Optoma H30 too.
