Recently bought the 4805 and I've been using the screen size calculator and it tells me I'll need a 74" screen. Not sure if I've used it correctly but this doesn't seem right to me, thought I'd be looking at 7' + size (diagonal) screen. The projector will be 10-11 foot away from the screen - any body have a different slant on this?

Presumably the 4805 has optical zoom hence from that distance you should have some flexibility and be able to make your 7ft size. Main thing to remember is not to max out the zoom, leave some flexibility to make the pic larger. I set up the PJ before purchasing the screen so I'd know what size I needed...PJ

Thanks for advice, seems sensible to set up projector first. Cheers.

from what I have read, with regards viewing distance a good rule of thumb is twice the screen width. So if your sitting 12ft away, you will need a 6ft wide screen.:hiya:

Thanks for all the tips - think I'll wait until my garage conversion is done and set the projector up to see what size screen I'll realistically need.
