I just typed long message but lost it cause too many smilies init :(

Anyway try and make it brief with no sad smilies.

    6 - 7 weeks ago ordered a Projecta ProCinema 7ft 16:9 Manual screen

Day later got a phone call from supplier to say sorry but our carrier just rang and they have dropped the screen and smashed it to bits !!!
Do you want the next size up as no more 7ft ones in stock ??

No thanks I will stick with the 7ft one please.

Ok but will have to order from the manufactuer in the Netherlands and delivery will be around 4 weeks !!!

Thats ok im in no rush I say I have me homemade one anyway.

    .........................

3 Weeks pass and I mail the supplier to see if any news......
    Get no reply ???

Another week passes and try mailing again and get no reply ?
Re send the mail, no reply try again no reply *** !!!!

    Give up on it

    ........................

See a 6ft electric 4:3 screen on for sale forum and put offer in.
Guy takes too long to decide wether or not to accept offer and another appears on forum which I make an offer on and it gets accepted YAY.

Only thing is I have to wait for it till he sells his PJ, but thats ok im in no rush, after all have me homemade one still.

Off topic but decide to build pond in back garden last week, but with the weather Its been rained off a few days.
Anyway today my son comes out to garden, Dad someone is at the door,
Answer it then I tell him....
Its for you dad he's got a parcel ???

Well i'm not expecting anything so am a bit confused.

Gets to door and yup you guessed it a guy with a long narrow box awaits my signature.

I sign for it and lay it down on the living room floor.
mmmmmmm Look at the length of that LOL

Its the ProCinema 7ft Manual 16:9 screen!!!

So Now my head starts hurting, spinning, generally messed up !!

What the hell do i do ???

I dont wann let the guy in the for sale forum down so I will go ahead with the purchase.

I dont wanna send the ProCinema back cause I want the Extra foot LOL

    So what do I do.......

Do I re advertise the leccy screen on the forum ?

Do I send back the ProCinema ?

Can I make the ProCinema screen leccy by using parts from the 4:3 owl leccy screen ?

That last one will prolly **** both up though.......

    Help Me Please........................

    Many thanks
    Bry

I'd tell the guy you're buying from what's happened and apologise for the confusion. As he's waiting to sell his projector too, he can re-advertise.

Seems like the least hassle solution all round! I've got a manual screen and it takes all of 5 seconds to setup.....

Have spoken to the guy with the owl screen and what a gentlemen he has been :)

He was quite happy for me not to go ahead with the purchase of his screen, as he will be able to now sell it as a package with the PJ.

Andy F your a gentlemen and a scholar, many thanks m8
and goodluck with your sale. :)

PS: I will update my album as soon as i install the screen and take some piccies.

    Which ?

I think you mean the Projecta ProCinema, if so I havn't been invoiced yet. I bought it from Metroplan and you have to open an account before you can buy from them, this is no hassle by the way. You then get 40 percent discount for being a new customer !!! which is why I chose them in the first place.

Hmm Shouldn't this be in the Special offers forum ? :)

Its £188 + vat and Free Delivery :) thats with the 40 Percent Discount.

This is the email I got when i first enquired about it, the dimensions in the mail are the viewable area the actual screen is 117 x 200. case is 213.1 Diagonal is 92"

    Quote

ProCinema 107 x 190 order code 201422 £188.40 this item is in stock
The dimensions are slightly different to those requested due to the overall screen size against the viewing portion of the screen, but they are the same screens!!

To enable us to open an account on your behalf we require the following :-

Do you know if they'll add extra black material to lower the screen for high ceilings?

Moving house in the next couple of months and this screen is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for the heads up.

Have just installed it aint tried it yet.

It has various drops depending how far you pull it out from ceiling
I have a choice of 8", 16" or 32" drop so would even be ok for peeps who dont have the pj ceiling mounted.

ekko click here and scroll down to the ProCinema:
Projecta ProCinema 7ft 16:9 Manual screen

Its not listed on Metroplans site but the product number and price are as above in the mail i got from them.

What does it smell like? :D

Mine, when it arrived in April (manufactured the week B4), was almost unbearable for a day or two.

I'd recommend you pull it fully down & leave it so with the room well ventilated for sevaral hours.

A nice screen, I use mine at it's second lowest position (ceiling mounted PJ).

I was going to suggest yoy lower the screen in your pics, but you'll be able to now.

Having the screen lower makes it much more enjoyable.

Most pictures of HC/PJ set ups I see have the screen too high. I don't think people realise just how much of an improvement correct screen height : viewing position makes.

As a rough guide, your eyes (in your normal seating position)should be 1/3rd up from the bottom of the screen.

BTW, mine cost €415 (£259), so I think that 40% discount is a bit of a joke, but it is still cheaper than what I paid. But 15%, not 40%.

Also, if anyone's interested in Projecta, they acquired DaLite a some time ago.

JSW: You keep saying while you were waiting for the guy (which was me by the way) to decide if your offer for the electric screen was acceptable that another screen came on the forum when you know full well it didn't and that this so called gentlemen jumped on my sale and PM'd you saying he also had one for sale. Gentlemen don't break the forum rules and certainly don't secretly jump in on someone else’s negotiations and offer to sell there item instead.

I don't blame you in any way for his actions just wish you would tell it has it was. I'm also pleased that you got a screen that you are happy with and personally would have also let you out of the deal had we agreed a deal and then your other screen turned up like it did:)

I did manage to sell the screen and have since sold another because I've managed to get hold of a few more from a liquidation sale including a 7' which of course I will keep for myself :D

So no hard feelings but if you must use this info in post you make then please state the facts correctly.

Urm why post this 4 months on ????

The screen I offered to buy was on the forum and I made my offer there which was accepted also in his thread.

I offered to buy the screen even though the other one appeared.

Yes I was approached via PM and informed of the other one but I replied to the PM that I was waiting to hear from yourself as to wether you was going to accept my offer. Had you of accepted I would of bought yours.

You was holding out for a higher offer, I waited before offering for the other one.

You keep saying If I keep refering to ????? I havn't mentioned this anywhere except this thread which is over 4 months old !!!
    What is your Point ?

The Point about the other member informing me via pm about his screen I agree was below the belt but as I said I informed him I was waiting for my offer to you.

It was Days later before I formally made an offer for his in his thread.

At the end of the day you didn't accept my offer and he did the rest is as above.

Maybe its my memory playing tricks on me but I'm sure I've seen you mention this before and like I said no hard feelings has far has you are concerned I just got a bit annoyed when I saw you call this guy a gentlemen and when things are mentioned that involve me I like the facts to be clear. Might be a bit picky but it just bugs me when people who go behind other peoples back get called gentlemen.

Has far has I can remember the other screen was never publicly on this forum.

You Say you offered to buy the screen even though the other appeared, if you are referring to my screen which we were in the process of negotiations then no you didn’t, if you mean you offered to buy the screen that **** * offered you by PM even though the screen you ordered turned up, then forget this bit.

I did accept your offer by PM, you then informed me that you had bought the other screen from **** *. I also posted that I had accepted your offer but you had bought one elsewhere.
