I have a Draper Luma screen but it suffers from the dreded ripples. Any idea how to solve?

If I was to upgrade what should I go for. Looking at 8' pull down

    Hi petrolhead

I also have a draper luma electric 8ft screen and it too suffers from a few ripples and edge curls. I think this is common for non tensioned screens.

I guess there are a number of ways to cure this including

    1. Fit your own tension sides wires.
    2. Add some weights to the bottom of the screen. If you use elasticated material to attach them to can fix and un-fix as necessary.
    3. Buy a new screen. I am going for a Stewart tab tensioned Firehawk screen. WARNING: This is the most costly option by a long way

I think it would have to be Stewart due to their screen surface technology and particularly because the price difference is negligible.

I'm looking for suppliers in the States who will ship across. Unlike a pj there's not a great deal can go wrong with a screen (motor aside) and will hopefully save over a grand by doing it this way.

Search the net for suppliers and pick one you feel comfortable with. When I choose mine I'll let you know.

This mag worth popping to Town for???? First i have heard of it.
Are there many interesting articles???? if its for newbies I wont bother.

I added some 22mm pipe clips to the rear of my speakers, slightly lower than they need to be, this seems to give enough tension to remove the ripple on my Da-lite model b.
