Hi,

I am looking to install a PJ and screen to upgrade the home cinema and need a bit of advice. What is the minimum distance from the floor that the bottom edge of the screen should go?

The room is 5 Metres long with a seating position of about 3 Metres. The ceiling is sloped (Attic Conversion).

Cheers

Hi,

This depends on what you're sitting on. The lower your position when seated, the lower the screen should be.

I would recommend the white area (projection part) of the screen to start at around 90 cm from the floor.

Best regards,

Otto

Best results are when your eye level is one third up from the bottom edge (viewing area) of your screen.

If your eyes are 36" from the floor when seated then the bottom edge of the screen should be 18" from the floor with a 54" high screen (16/9, 110" diagonal) give or take a few inches :).
