I can’t decide on the right screen.
I don't know if I should get the Video Spectra or the Glass Beaded.
I do want to have the option of having some more light in the room but what do I loose by having this Glass Beaded type.
I thought that the Video Spectra will be enough,
What do you thimk or recommend?

Can someone advice on Da-Lite screens? Should I go for the Model B or Model C?

    Thank you'

Hi, I too have the 708 and am currently using a Da-Lite Video Spectra screen with a quoted gain of 1.5. I certainly wouldn't want a gain any higher. In fact it would be better to have a slightly lower gain as in some bright scenes the reflected light is too bright, but hey we can't all afford Stewart screens.
Sorry I have no experience of the glass beaded design.

    What about http://www.harknesshall.com

I'm trying my self to find something less ££££ than stewart screens, And they also have micro perforated.

My ideea is the Perlux 140

But I agree with you, it is easy to find review on different CRT's
pro/cons but in the screen market, I feel completly lost.

    Try Henry @ crtprojectors.co.uk

He can supply Draper M1300 1.3 gain with frame or just fabric (approx £5.00 per foot for the fabric) this has no surface texture at all so no hot spotting.

He says thisis better than any of the da-lite materials

I'm using Da-lite Model B Matte White 16:9 92" screen with my 708. It's quite good screen for my use, maybe little more gain would make better performance. Matte white has 1.1 measured gain so something between 1.3 and 1.5 would be best performer.

Draper uses different type of material than Dalite. Glass fiber has been used for making the screen stiff, when Da-lite screens are vinyl based. Draper should have less waving problems, but according to my knowledge both have those, if they are roll modells. Or at least i've heard so. Draper's are also more stinky :)

Dalite should also have better mechanisms than Drapers. At the end both should be fine. Take the one which is cheaper :)

This is down to the structure of the material as the polymers and monomers contained within are outgassing and will continue to do so for a while yet.

Same chemical process to what your new car dashboard goes through.
