So I am standing by the side of my Vierra. Imputting some thing up on the shelf . The sun is shining through the window and on to the plasma screen . I can notice lots and lots and lots of tiny surface scratches. Now The plasma has to be dusted every so often.Bcause the front of the plasma is plastice it also seeems to atract a hell of a lot of dust. I have followed the instuctions in the owners manual and used a lint free no abrasive cloth with no cleaning fluides of any kind. This does not really remove any of the dust and has seemed to have caused these scratches.
Now , Granted, you can only see the scratches in full direct sun light and when you are standing right next to and to the side of the screen , but if the panal plastic scratches so easily, why make it out of platic to begin with?
Can the plastic on the vierra be replaced? And if cleaning the front to get the dust off causes this sort of problem, then what is the answer?
Anyone who can shed a bit of light on this would have my grattitude. I know it sounds a bit fussy as you can not see them from normal viewing distances and in my normal viewing light , but there must be a right and a wrong way to go about the cleaning of the screen and a way to protect it from scratching

Said it before say it again.....

Microfibre cloth and AF screen clene. Professionals choice.

Lots of poeple use tissues(far too abrasive) leave swirls and fine scratches, such as you have experienced. Some use damp cloth, but then you have to dry screen in order to remove water marks and usually scratch the screen with your drying cloth.

Have been useing a micro fibre cloth. but with out making it ever so slightly damp all you do is move the dust around the screen.
Ekko, where do i get the screen cleaner from and is it 100% safe to use on the plastic screen of the Viera?

If it's only dust, using air blower for cameras which costs only a few quid might be the perfect answer as there will be no physical contact. You just blow the dust away with wind!
