I have read rumours on a few forums that a Scorcese boxset containing special editions of After Hours, Goodfellas, and Raging Bull will be available sometime in 2003.

Now a single sided version of Goodfellas is joyous in itself, but After Hours on DVD? AT LAST!!!!!!! :D:D

A superb, now cult, movie directed by Martin Scorcese. One of his best IMO. All about a man who's just trying to get home after work and all the things that happen to him on the way.

Nothing to do with Carlito's Way.

Actually Carlito's Way was based on two novels, both by Edwin Torres. The novels were "Carlito's Way" and it's seguel "After Hours". The book "Carlito's Way" mostly dealt with Carlito in Jail and recounting his stories of his drug dealing past. We are only told brief outlines of these stories in the film, which is mostly based on the "After Hours" book. This begins with Carlito getting out of Jail and the subsequent events that happen, as in the film.

So, jmack is technically correct in that Carlito's Way was based on "After Hours", just not the "After Hours" that Squirrel God is referring to, which in itself is a great film........just not as great as Carlito's Way ;).

Yes, not that "After Hours". Carlito's Way is a damn fine film too, but it's a totally different genre to Scorcese's After Hours (which I like more :D). When an anamorphic release of Carlito's Way is made available, then I intend to purchase it :) I don't like many Brian De Palma films but that one was a good 'un. :)

    You're a damn know-all Groundy and you know it ;) :D

Hard to say what I wanna say next without ruining another good film for people so....

****** SPOILERS FOR "CASINO" AND "CARLITO'S WAY" *******

Sadly, you realise at the end of Carlito's Way that the ending you saw at the start is the ending you're gonna get.

Whereas with Casino, the ending you saw at the start, is not the ending you get ;)

Would've been nice if Carlito's Way was more like Casino in that respect :)

    ******* END OF SPOILERS ****************
