michael had a few 'fun' laps round the Mugello circuit on a Ducati MotoGP bike

    clocked 1minute 50seconds

Valentino Rosso pole postion time for this years MotoGP at the same track 1:49:223

seems like michael can turn his hand to anything on two or four wheels :D

just hope they give him a decent car next year

So not so very different from Rossi's efforts at Ferrari's test track earlier this yr where having never even sat in an F1 car previously he got within 2 s of the lap record....I think it all just goes to show that if you're a good driver/rider,you're good no matter what you're given.

The same comparisons have been held between Martin Brundle and Colin Mcrae a few yrs back when they swapped each others cars for a test, and both got pretty close to the other's times.

The nearest true comparison is the Race of Champions organised each year where the best of the rally,F1 and karting world usually appear and compete in equal cars for a laugh...shame it can't be done more often.
Schumacher is however quoted as having gone round Mugello in a best time of 2mins 8 secs, which although fast,is a LONG way of Rossi's pole time....

"By the end of the session he was clocking times of roughly two minutes and 10 seconds, which was still nowhere near the one minute 49.223 seconds lap record of MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi. "
