Is this out on DVD yet ? If not does anyone know when it will be out ?
No DVD yet and no release date either - it was hoped that it would come out to coincide with the 10th anniversary of it's release (Nov 2003)
There is nothing official yet but rumours say it would come out early next year.
Well, it finally has a release date
This is from the digitalbits.....This is a quick update to let you know that we heard an actual street for Universal's upcoming Schindler's List DVD. Word from retailers in the know is that Universal expects to release the DVD-18 disc on March 9th of next year. They've also been informed by the studio that The Sugarland Express and Duel will follow in 2004, so good news for you Spielberg fans.
That's another 5 months or so.
Whats a DVD-18 by the way ?
I believe bowenjones is refering to the disc capacity(correct me if im wrong) most discs are of the 9gig variety(?) whereas 18gig ones are rarer as they cost more. I thought they had stopped using them because of the cost, i have an early Terminator 2 R1 that is a dvd-18 but as far as i now none of my other 250 discs are!!!
You're right about T2 R1 iamtheone, it is a dvd-18.
They are rare and I am very surprised that Schindler's List
is to be released this way rather than having two seperate
To clarify the dvd-18 thing further rags, this disc will be dual
layered on both sides ( sort of like a flipper but with the film
being on one side and the extras on the other - well, I assume
this to be the case ) therefore providing the maximum capacity
currently available on one dvd disc.
For example I have a few oldish dvd's that have a widescreen version on one side and full screen on the other - bugs life comes to mind - are they DVD-18 ?
Probably not. I'm not sure about Bug's life but it could be
either a dvd-10 or a dvd-14. Dvd-10 is a double sided, single
layer disc and a dvd-14 is dual layered on one side only.
Superb movie and I cannot believe we are still waiting for its release
The last I heard of its immenent release
