My new video setup currently compromises of a 22inch TFT Monitor connected to my Xbox 360 via the official VGA cable. Obviously, as TFT monitors aren't TV's, there's no other inputs on there and more to the point no Scart input via which I can connect the PS2.

Therefore, I'm in the market for a cable or adapter which converts the scart signal from the PS2 to VGA so I can attatch it to a VGA switch, which is then attatched to my monitor allowing me to switch between 360 and PS2.

First of all, is this possible as my monitor ouputs in 16:10, not 16:9?

Secondly, At the moment, the only cable I can find that hasn't been discontinued by the seller is this one. It looks like it'd fit the bill, but at £30 it's a bit rich for a length of wire. Can anyone recommend me a cable or adapter that works well and is no more than £20? There are quite a few on ebay, but they all look homemade and are scarily short, whereas I need at least a metre of lead.

And thirdly, I mentioned that I'm going to be connecting this cable to a VGA switch box so I can switch between 360 and PS2 -- will I lose picture quality, and if so, how much? I'm more concerned about the 360 picture than anything, and if it's anything largely noticeable I won't bother at all.

Cheers to those who reply :)

    This is the same cable:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/MVS-Scart-VGA-use-projectors/dp/B000LD8JFO
    Note:

    # Scart to VGA cable.
    # This cable allows you to easily connect RGB scart equipment directly to Plasma, LCD Screens and projectors.
    # Please note this cable does NOT convert scart RGB into an SVGA computer signal.

You need a converter to get from RGBhv to VGA for a computer monitor.

The best you can get apparently is this one., but at over £100 it ain't your £30 cable either!

Tsch, well if I ever feel I need to, I'll just get the £30 cable. Why are those switches so expensive?

Er, no you won't unless you want to waste £30.

Please note this cable does NOT convert scart RGB into an SVGA computer signal.

A cable like that will not work in your set up. Period. You need a converter, and that's why they are expensive!
