Unless your display can't handle RGB very well then I'd doubt you'll get any improvement at all.

Hi.. wright_here, I was looking for exactly the same when I saw your post.

I have a Sony Sky box (Not+ or HD) only with RGB output but just got a new Toshiba 42wlt66 TV. so I hope to improve over the RGB Sky signal without going up to Sky HD. I would also like to find out if it is worth purchasing a RGB to Component Converter I was looking at RGB to Component (YUV) Video Converter from JS-Technology.

I have a Sky plus box which will also gives me S-Video, but have been told that Scart it the way to go! Thought it looked quite good when i looked at it, but not sure about paying that sort of money when I could get a monster scart cable for that price!

RGB is the best you'll get from a Sky Digibox. You won't get a better picture by changing RGB component to YUV. The limitations of the original picture quality are still there. In fact you might make it worse.
