I just bought a QED sqart off ebay. It said it was scart to svideo but that doesn't work. I'm assuming it's the other one (AV12, svideo-scart) but have yet to test. The guy obviously didn't realise they were directional. Anyway, I kind of planned to shorten it anyway as the shortest you can get is 2m and I want less than .5m.

So, can anyone tell me which pins in the scart socket I should connect to pins 1-4 in the svideo plug to make a scart to svideo lead? At the mo, pins 13/15/18 and 20 are connected in the scart.

Looks like I just need to attatch the luminence pin in the svid plug to pin 19 (output) instead of 20 (input).

    Right?

Thanks, the two grounds would stay the same I imagine and Chrominance only has one pin in a scart (15) which is connected to the same pin at the other end of a standard scart lead. The only difference I can see is that pin 1 in the svid is connected to pin 20 (Video input) for svid-scart or pin 19 (Video output) for scart-svid. 19 and 20 are crossed over in a standard scart-scart lead so that must be the difference.

Need to find some cheap equipment to try it on, old sky box and an old tv will do.

    Anyone else confirm my thoughts?

    Hello Steve,

Swapping round pins 19 and 20 will do it.

Thanks Mark. By the way, I'll be putting a large order your way shortly once I have built my new cabinet and come up with interconnect requirements.
