I am not sure but I am sure the DAVS offers both a RGB(Scart) and component output. Which one will give me the best picture quality please.

Also has anyone used Cambridge Audio 2M Premuium scart cables (from Richersounds I think) and are they any good.

    Thanks.

In theory component is better, but RGB scart is quite close behind unless you are using a high quality display. I would guess there is very little in it on the DAVS...

I would think a good quality scart would be the one to go with, I would suggest one for £30-50 if you have a decent TV - check out ones from Ixos, Supra or QED.

    Hi Keith,

I don't think the Sony DAV-S series have Scart outputs, so component will be your best bet. But as you've got that Sony TV, you will need an s-video to Scart lead. Any of those makes Jason mentioned are fine.

Last one, I promise! Does the SVHS output on the DAVS system support RGB? If so I am looking for a RGB Wired SVHS -> Scart Lead.

Sorry for the questions, to cut a long story short I have bough the DVD and TV but they are still in the box and will be until I move. Nightmare!!

    Thanks for the replies.

    Hi Keith,

You won't get RGB from an s-video output, only s-video (!) I'm afraid. You can only get RGB from a suitable DVD Scart. Now if you can swap your TV for one of the component-equipped Toshibas...:p
