    Hi all,

I'm about to get a Sony PFM42B1E plasma. My current kit is a Sky+ box, feeding via RGB SCART into a Pioneer 420 Hard Disk / DVD recorder. The RGB SCART output of the Pioneer then goes into an RGB SCART on my Sony CRT TV.

What is the best way of connecting this up to the Plasma? As I understand it, the Plasma has VGA, Composite and S-Video inputs (but no SCARTS).

The Pioneer has an SVideo output. However, to get best quality, do I need something to convert from the RGB SCART output of the Pioneer to a VGA connector into the Plasma?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andy

Yeah, spotted them. The price tag of about 150 quid is a little scary though...

Where's the best place to get them from? Would I see a noticeable difference between that and SVideo?

yeah sorry had a history issue now edited but if the JS box works tis the best way to add an RGB scart to the screen note it is RGB only and can be used with a scart switcher to add mulitple inputs...and why the SONY anyway?

My mate is moving to a smaller place, so wants to get a smaller screen. I'm getting his Sony in return for buying him another telly (about a grand or so).

Sounded like a good deal to me...

I'm sure he will miss it! Not sure which one it is he's getting, we ordered it a couple of days ago.
