I just purchased this from argos as it was recomended as being fairly good and having rgb on all ports:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...atalogId=3151&productId=126059&clickfrom=name

And typically with argos (you never get what you actually buy ) i have recieved this which seems to be an index product:

    http://www.index.co.uk/rf/navigatio...item_id=15&Mis_item_loc_id=1&product=19937981

It says rgb next to one port and vcr1 and vcr2 next to the other ports, does this mean that they won't support rgb on all ports ?

I think you mean this one (your link didn't work).

Well, I had one of those Argos boxes once, and I can tell you that the RGB button goes in and out, meaning you have to activate the RGB capability. When there was a non-RGB device in a socket, the screen went blank. Try the other sockets to find out like I did with the RGB socket. If they go blank, you're onto a winner. From what I can see of the photo of the Index one, the button configuration appears the same. I'm guessing that the box is just an update made by the same company. If I were you though, going for a cheap box - I would at least go for one with gold connectors - like this one here.

    i have found it here:
sorry if the link doesn't work.

    http://www.skytronic.com/export/engine/search.php/108.123?PHPSESSID=f260074c551695d4bad3ca5ff92c60ca

And it says rgb on all ports so i'll give it a go and if its pants i'll take it back.

Another way to test i suppose would be to attach the skybox to each switch and switch between pal and rgb in the sky menu as you can clearly see it change and see if it changes on all ports.

I was going to get that one you suggested but it didn't mention if it was rgb or not ( why do they never mention rgb at all ) but people said the one i went for was definately rgb.

If I were you, I'd go for something like this - in fact, I am! I'm soon to hook up all of the gear in my bedroom to a lovely 21" flat screen TV with Contrast Plus.
