    Can anyone help.

I would like to buy a Digibox from the UK, but I live in Finland.

I don't know whether UK digibox's are the same as Scandinavian Digiboxes? I realise I won't get ITV and BBC, but does anyone know?

    Thanks
    John.

a uk digibox will be different to ones used in finland, becuase of the encryptions used.

plus you'll need a big satellite dish to get the sky channels as i dont think the astra 28east footprint reaches that far

    Well I bit the bullet.

Bought a Ferguson FDT500 from Currys at £39.95 (half price offer) and brought it back to Finland.

It worked straight out of the box getting around 20 Finnish channels (about half TV and half Radio).

So the standard UK Digiboxes do work in Scandinavia and are much cheaper in the UK.

    An update.

Got the channels to work OK, but there is a small flickering to the picture.

I saw another thread in avforums, mentioning picture flickering and maybe thought it is my TV, as I get the same.

My TV is a 2 year old Sony 32 inch KV-32FX20E 50Hz (not 100Hz) and I use a very good ICOX flat SCART with gold connectors cable. I can't change to RGB output.

I also tried the included SCART, which made no difference.
